Mothers is split into three narrative threads. One involves Hyo-jin and her role as a stepmother for a teenage boy as well as her difficult relationship with her own mother. On the other hand, there is a teenage girl, who does not know what to do with her unwanted pregnancy. Mothers skillfully brings different aspects of motherhood together.
